A new job...

I've just received the yarn to knit a shawl for a lady. It's just a basic garter stitch rectangle, with bulky yarn, so it should go quickly. It came at just the right time because all my other UFO's were finished (for the most part).

Inspired...

I grabbed this quote from a friend's Facebook page. I thought it truly inspiring as to the way I want to live my life...

"Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all."

Another project finished!

Now that the holidays are past us, I'm finding time to finish some projects.

The first project finished was Jul-lys' baptism dress. I adapted a pattern with lace, insertion, and entredeux. I thought I gave myself enough time to get it done, I started 2 weeks before the date; however I still found myself pulling an all-nighter to get it done.

Starting anew...

Hello!
I'm new to all of this blogging etc. and as if I don't already have enough projects, I thought this would be an interesting way to track my progress as an artist and a craft-person.

I'm starting to find out that through the creative process, and keeping old crafts alive, that I'm finding a new sense of peace and serenity in my life.

I'm not good with rules when it comes to crafting and art. I've always had a hard time with following patterns and planning out how I'm going to do a project. I've always had a way about myself where I get a picture in my head of what I want something to look like, and then just figuring out how to create it.

So hopefully I'll get some followers, that would be wonderful. If not, I'll at least have a history, starting today, of where my creativity will have taken me.
